Why is philanthropy important to you and your family?
Philanthropy is a cornerstone value to my family because we have been extremely blessed. We work hard to instill in our children that it is more of a blessing to give than it is to receive.
What has drawn you to support the PBS Impact Foundation?
I was drawn to the PBS Impact Foundation because of their commitment to serving the underserved through educational access and economic opportunity. At the forefront is also their commitment to social and environmental justice.
In what ways do you want to make an impact?
Beyond making an impact with my financial contributions, I’m making an impact by my actions and my presence. I show up (with my family) for our community and teach them how to advocate for people and issues that matter to them.
How do you encourage others to give?
I believe you have to lead by example. Be the first to give – and talk about why you do. In our household, we try to model generosity: we share our giving philosophy openly with our children. Outside of our home, we try and make it simple and personal. The goal is to lower barriers to engagement and educate donors on our causes. Afterwards, I simply ask “Would you consider joining me in making a difference?”
The PBS Impact Foundation is grateful for your continued support!
