For Chapters
The PBS Impact Foundation believes that the greatest resource we have are the brothers and chapters of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity who are meeting the needs of the most vulnerable in our communities. The Foundation is committed to ensuring that chapters and members have opportunities and resources to raise funds for scholarships and community projects while operating within the regulations governing each organization’s IRS classification.
Sigma chapters are encouraged to partner with the foundation by establishing a Chapter Charitable Fund (CCF). The benefits of establishing a CCF include:
-
Increasing fundraising opportunities and resources, due to the favorable tax treatment provided to 501(c)(3) organizations
-
Not having to establish your own foundation, alleviating fiduciary obligations, startup costs, and tax and recordkeeping responsibilities
-
Foundation staff and volunteers assisting with fundraising activities, including but not limited to creating crowdfunding pages, accepting multi-year pledges, and establishing gift agreements with donors
-
Increasing the foundation’s visibility throughout the fraternity and communities served

Creating a 501(c)(3) affiliate to your chapter could take up to six months and more than $1,000 investment; starting a Chapter Charitable Fund with the PBS Impact Foundation can be set up in less than 30 days! The entire process is completed in three steps:
-
Complete the application
-
Sign the Memo of Understanding (MOU) between the chapter and Foundation
-
Make the $1,000 deposit to your CCF
Once completed, you’ll have an onboarding meeting with a member of the Foundation team, which will detail all the information and documents you will need for a successful partnership.
To start the process, download the form below and follow the instructions within. If you have any questions, contact the Foundation directly at info@pbsimpact.org.
