The PBS Impact Foundation proudly sponsored the Youth Empowerment Symposium, a high-energy, transformative event held at The Skills Center in Tampa during the 2025 Phi Beta Sigma Conclave. The day-long experience empowered more than 200 middle and high school students from the Tampa Bay area with access, exposure, and inspiration.

Organized in partnership with the Florida chapters of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and well as the International Directors of Bigger and Better Business, Education, and Social Action, the symposium featured an inspiring lineup of keynote speakers, interactive workshops, and engaging group activities focused on leadership, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, mental wellness, and creative expression. Students also connected with mentors, explored HBCU pathways, and received free resource kits and meals.
“This event is a perfect reflection of our mission - to invest in young people and build bridges between education, equity, and opportunity,” said Justin Gibson, Chairman of the PBS Impact Foundation. “By sponsoring the Youth Empowerment Symposium, we’re not just

showing up in Tampa - we’re sowing seeds of impact that will grow far beyond today.”
Held at 5107 N 22nd St, The Skills Center provided an ideal backdrop for a day committed to elevating youth voices and creating space for leadership development. The symposium was part of a larger commitment by the Foundation and fraternity to ensure that the international gathering left a meaningful imprint on the host community.
With over 200 youth in attendance, the event served as a launchpad for future leaders - many of whom walked away feeling seen, supported, and inspired to dream bigger.
