On Thursday, July 17, during the 2025 Conclave in Tampa, the PBS Impact Foundation hosted a special donor reception at the Marriott Water Street to celebrate the generosity, vision, and partnership that fuels its mission. The afternoon gathering brought together foundation supporters, fraternity leaders, and corporate partners to reflect on a transformative year of impact, and to honor those who make it possible.

Guests were welcomed by Foundation Secretary, Michael Murry, and Chairman Justin Gibson shared updates on the Foundation’s milestones, including its inaugural Day of Impact, record-breaking growth in individual giving, and the expansion of youth-focused programming across the country. “Our donors are the engine behind everything we do,” Gibson remarked. “Today, we honor you and we recommit ourselves to a shared vision of purpose-driven philanthropy.”

Two special awards were presented during the program. Macy’s was named Philanthropic Partner of the Year in recognition of its $100,000 investment in youth development and education through the Foundation. Accepting the award on behalf of Macy’s was Simone Laws, Senior Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion - Marketing + Community, who reaffirmed their commitment to community-centered giving and praised the Foundation’s alignment with their values.

The Foundation also honored Hon. Micheal E. Cristal as its Philanthropist of the Year for his longtime leadership and generous support. A past International President of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., his administration helped to establish the PBS Impact Foundation, and he has been instrumental in championing the Foundation’s growth. In his remarks, he encouraged others to give in a way that is meaningful to them.

The reception was a powerful reminder of the growing momentum behind the PBS Impact Foundation. With over 4,000 donors and rising, the Foundation continues to advance its mission of education, empowerment, and equity - with every gift pushing that vision forward.
